Welcome to our official feedback forum. Do you have an idea? Do you recognize a good idea when you see one? We want to hear from you!

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

    • saving to .rtf format

when I save to an rtf file, it shows up as a series of boxes (one per "line") only 1 inch wide. Though the page margins are 6". Can't change it in wordpad.

For this to be useful in writing, the rtf output should be a paragraph per line, in place text, not in boxes.

      • Better Export to HTML and CSS: I this this is a must

Better Export to HTML and CSS: I this this is a must--the user should be able to specify that each level, on export to HTML, has a CSS class in a P tag. this neables the user to have excellent control over the formatting, simply by putting their own CSS styles at the head of the document. Word does this, believe it or not, via styles. I use this in a fairly efficient work flow to create Kindle Books. Alternatively, having each level assoicated with an H tag (obviously level to is H2, etc.) would be excellent and give the…

        • Order fonts alphabetically and allow us to type the first letter for filtering

For some reason the order of the fonts is completey messed up for me (using Brazilian Portuguese Windows XP), if this is an universal problem, I think making the fonts abide to alphabetical order would be a huge improvement. Also, being able to type the first letter of the font name for filtering the font list would be nice.

          • Print columns with left aligned text.

During entry, the text is left aligned. When printed, it's justified, making my work nearly illegible.

            • Zoom on text

It would be helpful to be able to zoom on an outline. It can be tiring to look at small text. Omni has a feature that allows to zoom without having to select a larger font.

              • Add auto accumulating column option

Auto Accumulating column should allow only numbers, and can be filled on a leaf level only.
Other levels will automatically accumulate the numbers from their decedents, and display the total sum.
This is useful when trying to break down tasks, and estimating a budget or working time for each task.

                • Maintain column width ratios when printing

Recognizing that the pixel sizes are much different, the ratio should be maintained as that of the display. WYSIWYG.

                  • Adjusting margins

When printing a hard copy of an outline, the top margin is about 0.2" and the left margin is about 0.1". Is it possible to adjust the margins in Print preview or a page setup?

                    • [bug?] In navigation mode, UP ARROW key enters edit mode on an open-arrow row instead of moving highlight up one row.

When navigating a list like this:

                      - row above
                      V open-arrow line item
                      - item 1
                      - item 2
                      - item 3
                      - row below

using the UP ARROW key from "> open-arrow line item" enters edit mode instead of moving the highlighting up to "row above". Pressing the UP ARROW key again then moves the highlighting up one row, but the program remains in edit mode. This makes navigating, expanding, and collapsing troublesome.

If the line line is closed, like this:

                      - row above
                      > closed-arrow line item
                      - row below

highlighting moves up one row without entering edit…

                      • Bug: Crash when adding a note to any column other than the first

UV Outliner seems to crash whenever attempting to add a note to a column other than the very first.

                        To replicate:
                        1 Create a new outline
2 Add another column. The name doesn't seem to matter.
3 Select inside the second column
4 Attempt to insert a note, either through the Insert menu, or by using Ctrl+Shift+I

I pasted a copy of the stack trace on Pastebin: http://pastebin.com/zsgEge8c

                        • Bug: Typo in Expand/Collapse menu

There's a few typos in the Expand/Collapse menu under Navigation.

The Expand All and Collapse All items are correct, but the Expand Level items use "shirt" in the shortcut, instead of shift.

                          E.g.
                          Expand Item 1: Ctrl+Shirt+1

One of the tasks that confront the presenters of their knowledge is an ability to present knowledge in a hierarchical form.
To use such a concept is complex and I will present it as I am using it and why it is so. Regards Patrick Forkin.

                                      • Crashes when changing font on an item with a hyperlink in it.

                                        Steps to reproduce:
                                        1. Open UV Outliner, either an existing file or a new blank slate
                                        2. Add a new bullet item containing a hyperlink, for example http://www.google.com/
                                        3. Hit ctrl-A
                                        4. On the right side bar, under font settings, click a different font size.

                                        Actual behaviour:
An "Error Occurred" dialog pops up saying "Object reference not set to an instance of an object.", although if you ignore this dialog, it does appear that the font size will have changed, but the font settings dialog no longer knows what size the text you have selected is.

                                        Expected behaviour:
                                        Font size…
