Welcome to our official feedback forum. Do you have an idea? Do you recognize a good idea when you see one? We want to hear from you!

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

    • Allow multiple open files

Don't know if that is possible: on Mac OS the OmniOutliner allows multiple open files. OO remembers on exit which files were open and reopens them when starting.

      • Offer a TRUE portable version of UV Outliner

People in a corporate environment usually do not have the option to install anything on their PC, because they do not have admin rights. Having a single EXE or the contents of a ZIP file to put on a USB stick would make UV Outliner truly portable.

          • Speed

Make it more responsive. Especially typing should happen without noticable slow-down.

Save last edit position in outliner file, so cursor will be on the last editing place when document is opened.

              • 'Find' is broken

The 'Find' function only finds one instance of a string, and then doesn't look any further. It would be good if (a) you could use F3 (as you can in other Windows applications) to repeat the search, and (b) if it worked correctly every time! Love the application, however; looking forward to seeing how it develops.

                • Make moving rows more flexible

Right now, I can only move a row to a different spot underneath its original heading. However, I frequently create a row somewhere and later decide I want to move it so it sits under a different heading. Doing this requires me to cut the original row, create a new row somewhere, paste the cut row into the new row, and delete the old row.

Ideally, I would love to see is the ability to move rows like you can on Workflowy.com. There, you can drag and drop rows with your mouse wherever you want and they automatically take on…

                    • Ability to hide or show inline notes

Click on the note icon at the side of a row with an inline note to hide (or collapse) the note.
Clicking on the icon again will show the inline note.
Icon could be bolder if the note is hidden.

                        • Add ability to link to files on computer.

Most other outlining programs allow you to link text to PDFs, Word/Excel documents, etc. This would be helpful in creating more robust outlines and strategies.

                          • System resources

UV Outliner is actually very good - I've just completed a major project using it as a kind of whiteboard - but there are a couple of irritations. First, it uses heavy system resources... I'll put separate entries for the others ;o)

Just a note to say thank you. I found your app via Google "Simple Outliner" and have been pleasantly surprised. I've been looking for a clean, single windowed, easy to use outliner for Windows for many moons now and have never found anything. Yours looks very promising! Years ago I used a product called "InControl" on the Mac. It was very easy to use and very clean and simple to use, without too much clutter.

One feature of InControl that was very cool was the ability to toggle the bullet symbol of any given line to a checkbox that could…

Filter option. For using for Getting Things Done methodology or something like that, it woud be fantastic to be able to filter lines with some word/character included or not included. For instance, for context, you could filter @ symbol and so on, for tags #, and so on.

I'm experiencing some mildly annoying behaviour - don't know if anybody else has seen it? Occasionally fonts reset to the default font for no apparent reason, even though they may have been a different size/weight for some time previously. It's actually quite disconcerting.

                                      • Feedback forum: What ideas have been selected for implementation

We, your user community, are unclear about where you're heading, and whether progress is being made. An indication of what ideas are being worked on, their estimated release moment, would provide a sense of continuity. This would give your user community something to look forward to.
